Mutton Curry

The Mutton curry is a easiest and quickest recipe when you are really in hurry. This mutton curry is a go-to option for any surprise guests. It takes only 30 minutes to cook and can be served with rice or roti. Believe me, the curry is so yummy that you will not have any leftovers 🙂

Ingredients

  1. Sesame Oil – 1/4 cup
  2. Onions – 1 Large
  3. Tomato- 1 Large
  4. Goat – 2 lbs
  5. Salt – as required 
  6. Turmeric – 1/2 spoon

To Grind

  • Ginger – 1 1/2 inch
  • Garlic – 10-15 cloves
  • Red Chili – 7-9 count ( as per the preference) 
  • Kashmiri Chili – 2-3 ( Optional)
  • Coriander Seeds – 1 tbs 
  •  Fennel Seeds – 1 tbs
  • Cinnamon stick – 1/2 inch
  • Cardamom – 2 count
  • Star Ansi- 1 count
  • Coconut – 4-6 pieces 
  • Cashew nut – 3 count
  • Cloves – 2-3 

To Temper

  • Oil – 2 tbs
  • Onion – 2 tbs
  • Red Chili – 3
  • Curry Leaves – 1 string
  • Coriander leaves – 4 strings 

Preparation

  1. Grind all the ingredients mentioned in ‘To Grind’ section to a paste. 
  2. Add 1/4 cup of sesame oil to the pressure cooker. Once oil heats up, add Onion and saute  till golden color. Add turmeric and sauté again for 30 seconds. Now add the tomatos and cook until mushy. 
  3. Now add the goat to the pressure cooker and stir it together with Onion and Tomato. Add salt as required and let it sit for 2 minutes.
  4. Add the grinded paste (masala) to the pressure cooker and stir it well so that all the ingredients mix well. Then add 1-1/2 glass of water and close the pressure cooker lid. Put the stove on low-medium and allow it to cook till 5 whistles. Tuen off the stove and let the pressure settle down.
  5. While the pressure cooker rests, take 2 tbs sesame oil in the pan and allow it to heat. Add 2tbs onion, 3 red chili and curry leaves. 
  6. Open the pressure cooker when ready, add the above tadka and fresh coriander leaves to garnish.
  7. Mutton Gravy is ready! Serve hot with Roti or Rice.
